Our family moved here in 2017 in search of more space, a slower pace, and a closer connection to nature. Looking back, we believe God led us here and opened the door to a life and purpose we never could have planned for ourselves. From the beginning, we were welcomed by a generous community that embraced our family, shared its knowledge, and encouraged us as we found our place here.

What began with five tapped sugar maple trees in 2018 has grown into something far greater than we ever expected. Yet our maple story began long before us. Generations of families on this mountain have tapped some of these same trees for more than 200 years, and several of our sugar maples are estimated to be nearly 250 years old. We are grateful to carry that tradition forward and mindful of our responsibility to preserve it for the generations that follow.

A local community beekeeping class also gave us the confidence to begin raising bees with just two hives, laying the foundation for the apiary that now provides the honey and beeswax used in many of our products.

Today, we produce wood-fired maple syrup from trees growing here on the mountain, harvest honey from our own hives, and create natural beeswax products and handcrafted goods. We do not use chemical sprays or treatments on our farm. We view caring for this land as both a privilege and a responsibility entrusted to us by God. Our stewardship efforts support pollinators and include plans to continue restoring and improving natural habitat for bees, birds, and other wildlife.

Our growth would not have been possible without God’s provision and the dedication of family members here in Bergton and beyond. They have shared the hard work, prayers, cold sleepless nights cooking sap, honey-harvesting adventures, vendor outreach, celebrations, and challenges that come with building something meaningful.
